What’s the most fun vehicle to drive? Answering that question depends on your idea of fun. For us, only one model fits the bill, and that’s the Ford Bronco. The Bronco has a rich history in the Ford lineup, with the American automotive pioneer introducing a new generation of drivers and adventurers to the legend in 2021. Fast forward to 2024, and the iconic SUV is aging gracefully, offering drivers more of everything–more value, more on- and off-road capability, more innovative features, more standard components, and much more excitement. There’s no denying that drivers looking for an adventure-ready vehicle should be looking for a Ford Bronco for sale.

#1 – Pricing: The Bronco Big Bend Replaces the Base

For 2024, Ford puts the Bronco Base on hiatus (until 2025) and makes the Big Bend the gateway into the lineup. The 2024 Bronco Big Bend starts at $39,630 and sets the benchmark with its feature-rich packaging.[a] The modest starting price puts you behind the wheel of a head-turning SUV sitting on 17-inch Carbonized Gray-painted aluminum wheels wrapped in 32-inch all-terrain tires. The Big Bend’s rugged stance is more than aesthetics, with Ford adding the Terrain Management System with six GOAT Modes that encourage you to test the SUV’s limits on and off the pavement. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob add a touch of luxury to the cabin.

#2 – Trims: There’s a Bronco for Everyone

The Big Bend is the entry point into the Bronco’s 2024 lineup and caters to those looking for a budget-friendly model that’s well-equipped and ready for adventure straight off Ford’s production line. Climbing the Bronco lineup adds more exclusive features and components, with each trim offering a distinct persona and appeal. For example, the Black Diamond adds powder-coated steel bumpers, rock rails, heavy-duty bash plates, marine-grade vinyl seating, and rubberized flooring with drain plugs. The Outer Banks distinguishes itself with its powder-coated tube steps and leather-trimmed heated front-row seats.

Celebrating the Bronco’s rich history is easy with the Heritage Edition, which is instantly recognizable by its bodyside graphics and Oxford White roof. From there, the Badlands and Everglades lead the way to the Wildtrak and Heritage Limited Edition. The Wildtrak is ready for anything, thanks to its HOSS 3.0 suspension, FOX internal bypass dampers, seven G.O.A.T Modes, and extensive off-road components. This rugged trim sets the stage for the Raptor, which brings us to our next highlight.

#3 – Raptor: The Ultimate in Bronco Performance

Ford raises the bar of performance with the 2024 Bronco Raptor, a four-door SUV destined to push the limits wherever it travels. The Raptor is equipped with the best performance-oriented components, starting with its HOSS 4.0 Suspension with FOX Live Valve 3.1 Internal Bypass Semi-Active Dampers. The performance-tuned suspension complements the Raptor’s on and off-road prowess, with its rugged stance enhanced by its 37-inch all-terrain tires.

The 2024 Bronco Raptor treats adventures to more excitement behind the wheel, courtesy of its potent 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine. Ford adds a seventh GOAT Mode to the Bronco’s Terrain Management System and lines the underbody with heavy-duty steel bash plates. With the bash plates adding peace of mind on technical terrain, the front stabilizer bar disconnect improves articulation and maneuverability. The same is true for the heavy-duty modular front bumper, which features integrated tow hooks and RIGID fog lamps that heighten visibility without negatively impacting the Bronco’s approach angle.

#4 – Performance: The Heart of a Warrior

Ford gives the Bronco plenty of opportunities to shine on any terrain, thanks to an impressive three-engine lineup and the choice of a seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. For 2024, the Bronco’s base powerplant is Ford’s proven 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged inline-four that produces 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is the only one available with the seven-speed manual.

Climbing the Bronco’s powertrain lineup means enjoying the potency of a 2.7L EcoBoost V6. Turbocharged and ready for anything, the V6 engine produces 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. From there, the Bronco Raptor sees the highest output, courtesy of a turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6 that makes 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque.

While the engine is the Bronco’s heartbeat, Ford gives drivers a chance to finetune the SUV’s responsiveness, acceleration, throttle response, and more with driver-selectable modes. The Bronco’s Terrain Management System features up to seven GOAT Modes that guarantee the SUV can go over any type of terrain. Those modes include Normal, Eco, Rock Crawl, Baja, Mud/Ruts, Sand/Snow, and Sport.

#5 – Built Wild: Off-Road Capability

The 2024 Bronco is a testament to Ford’s ingenuity in building an SUV of this scale that can adeptly and confidently manage technical terrain. The Bronco’s advanced four-wheel drive system and High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension systems heighten its prowess off the pavement, especially with the Terrain Management System and the GOAT Modes finetuning that performance. But what else can you expect from the Bronco as it ventures off the pavement?

The Bronco rolls off Ford’s factory floor ready for adventure, thanks to an expert build that provides 11.6 inches of ground clearance and up to 33.5 inches of water fording capability. This distance jumps to 36.4 inches on the Everglades. Beyond maneuvering through water crossings, the Bronco is more than capable of surmounting obstacles. It has a 43.2-degree approach angle, a 29-degree breakover angle, and a 37.2-degree departure angle. The optional steel bash plates give you the freedom to test the Bronco’s limits, knowing the engine, transfer case, fuel tank, stabilizer bar, and other major components are protected.

Apart from the Bronco’s ingenious build, Ford heightens its capability with electronic front- and rear-locking differentials, a front stabilizer bar disconnect, and innovative technologies like Trail Control. You can control the front stabilizer bar at the touch of the button, with the class-exclusive feature reconnecting when the Bronco reaches 20 or 40 mph, depending on the trim. As for Trail Control, that leads us to our next 2024 highlight–the Bronco’s tech-savvy design.

#6 – Technologies: Tools for Every Situation

Ford adds more tangible value to the Bronco in 2024 by making the expansive 12-inch touchscreen and SYNC 4 infotainment system standard across the lineup. The SYNC 4 system is intuitive, offering over-the-air software updates, seamless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigational tools, in-vehicle apps, and a rearview camera. Top-tier trims and certain packages replace the standard rear camera with a 360-degree version that provides a comprehensive view of the Bronco and its surroundings.

Technology in the 2024 Bronco extends beyond its center stack to a suite of tools working behind the scenes to heighten your experience behind the wheel. Many of these features are part of the Ford Co-Pilot360. The suite of driver-assist technologies includes a Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking.

Other tools are solely designed for life beyond the pavement and include Trail Turn Assist, Trail 1-Pedal Drive, and Trail Control. Trail Turn Assist tightens the Bronco’s turning radius by applying the brakes to the inside rear wheel at low speeds. Alternatively, Trail 1-Pedal Drive combines acceleration and braking in one pedal, making it easier to navigate technical terrain with a slight movement of your foot. Trail Control is also a notable feature, serving as a low-speed cruise control that maintains the Bronco’s speed so you can focus on steering the adventurer around, over, and through obstacles.
