Shopping for a vehicle is all about making decisions. You have so many options available to you that you’re typically trying to narrow things down to find the perfect ride. If you’re looking at electric vehicles for sale, then you’ve already made a lot of decisions to narrow your options down to EVs and everything they offer. With that in mind, the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E is one of the finest EVs on the market, delivering impressive power, range, and functionality in a gorgeous package that lives up to the legacy of the Mustang name. And yet, you still have some important decisions to make when it comes to this gorgeous vehicle, so let’s look at some key considerations, and we’ll help point you in the right direction so you can get the perfect vehicle with everything you need.

One Motor or Two?

Performance is at the forefront with the Mustang Mach-E and Ford’s engineers have worked overtime to ensure this EV lives up to its name and the reputation of what a Mustang should be. That said, you have two options available for the motor configuration, which impacts the kind of power and driving experience you’ll get, so this is well worth considering as you decide which Mustang Mach-E is right for you.

The standard setup is a single motor on the rear wheels of the Mustang Mach-E. This delivers 264 hp and 387 lb-ft of torque with the Standard Range battery or 290 hp with the Extended Range battery (more on battery options in a moment). This gives you rear-wheel drive (RWD), which is fun and certainly feels great. If you’re looking for enhanced performance, then you can choose a dual-motor setup for electric all-wheel drive (eAWD) and more power. An eAWD model with the Standard Range battery gives you 325 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque, while the Extended Range battery boosts that up to 365 hp for the Select and Premium trim levels.

Standard Range or Extended Range Battery?

We have already mentioned the two options for battery packs on the 2024 Mustang Mach-E, which impact the performance you get as well as the range of your vehicle. If you go with the Standard Range battery and a RWD setup, then you get an estimated 250 miles of range from a full charge. This battery and eAWD get an estimated 230 miles instead. This is a 72 kWh battery that offers a good range from a full charge. It’s not industry-leading, either, so consider how much you want to be able to drive at a time between charges.

If you need greater range, then you’ll want to go with the 91 kWh extended-range battery. This battery enhances performance and gets an estimated 300 miles of range with eAWD and the Select or Premium models. The Premium is also offered with this battery and single-motor RWD, which gets you an estimated 320 miles of range, the best that the Mustang Mach-E has to offer. If you go with the GT or Rally models, then you lose some distance since those two are designed for enhanced power and performance, though the GT can still go about 280 miles from a full charge.

Which Trim Level Is Right for You?

This is a big decision and a major consideration that goes beyond what we can cover here, but we’ll hit some of the highlights you should keep in mind. The starting trim is the Select. It’s available with either battery, though if you go with the extended-range battery, it’s only offered with eAWD. It comes with a manual rear liftgate, LED exterior lighting, and manual-fold side mirrors. Inside, the Select has a gorgeous 15.5-inch LCD capacitive infotainment touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel, a wireless charging pad, and a six-speaker sound system.

If you want enhanced features, consider the Premium trim, which includes a number of upgrades inside and out. The extended-range battery is now available with RWD, unlocking the maximum range option. The Premium has power-folding side mirrors and a power liftgate to make enjoying your vehicle easier each day. Inside, you’ll find similar fantastic features along with upgrades like heated front seats and a ten-speaker B&O sound system featuring a powerful subwoofer for incredible audio quality.

While the Premium has a number of great upgrades, check out the GT or Rally trims if you want enhanced performance. The Mustang Mach-E GT features a dual-motor setup with the extended-range battery and an upgraded front motor, delivering a total of 480 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque and elevating your drive to the next level. It looks gorgeous and includes a MagneRide Damping system for a smooth and comfortable ride, along with Brembo front brakes and 20-inch wheels to ensure you have a great time on the road. You also get Ford Performance front seats with Performance Gray Perforated ActiveX trimmed seating and unique inserts for a gorgeous and distinct interior in the GT.

If you go with the Rally model, the Performance Upgrade is included (more on that in a moment). It has a Rallycross-tuned MagneRide Damping system, unique 19-inch Oxford White wheels wrapped in Michelin CrossClimate2 performance tires, and distinct details inside to ensure it stands out from every other Mustang Mach-E model.

Want Upgraded Performance?

If you want to take things even further with the GT, a Performance Upgrade is available that boosts output to an unbelievable 700 lb-ft of torque. This lets the Mustang Mach-E GT go from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.3 seconds and run the quarter-mile in just 11.8 seconds. It’s remarkable power from a vehicle that already drives like a dream. This Performance Upgrade is optional on the GT and included with the Rally model, so keep that in mind as you decide on which trim level is right for you.

Want Ford BlueCruise?

All four 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E trims have the impressive BlueCruise hands-free driving system offered as an available package. With functionality across 97% of controlled access highways across the US and Canada, BlueCruise gives you freedom and stress-free driving that transforms your experience behind the wheel. Best of all, every Mustang Mach-E provides a complimentary Ford BlueCruise trial period to let you try it out, so you don’t have to make the decision to buy it until you’ve seen how it can enhance your drive each day.
